World Matchplay 2015

Winter Gardens, Blackpool
Besides the World Championship, this is the longest running tournament of the PDC. From 18 to 26 July the 32 best players in the world will be fighting in the beautiful Empress Ballroom in the Winter Gardens in Blackpool. The top 16 in the world rankings plus the best 16 players of the past year are playing for a total prize fund of over half a million euro. Last year Englishman Phil Taylor was the strongest and that was his 15th World Matchplay title.

The Japan Darts Masters were played on 27 and 28 June in the Osanbashi Hall in Yokohama. The field consisted of eight PDC top players who faced eight Japanese players in the first round. The eight PDC players were Michael van Gerwen, Phil Taylor, Gary Anderson, Adrian Lewis, Peter Wright, James Wade and Raymond van Barneveld and Stephen Bunting. All eight PDC players win their first round match relatively easy, with the exception of Raymond van Barneveld who is pushed by Katsuya Aiba, but still wins 6-4.
