Another great example of how the best referees get there first chance by accident. Noble also made his first steps on stage after the regular county caller called in sick. George’s talent was obviously from the start because after merely two years he already made it to the biggest darts stage in the World; Lakeside. If we keep the comparison of great mc’s going, Noble also started his exhibition work with Bobby George. Since then he has worked with all the great names of past and present. George Noble is regarded by many as the best tournament referee in the World; he very rarely makes a mistake on stage. Noble was the referee during the first Barneveld-Taylor match in Holland at the Masters of Darts ad he has been in every BDO WC final at Lakeside between 1995 and 2007. He finally got his nine dart leg at the Ally Pally when Raymond van Barneveld did it vs Jelle Klaasen in 2009.
