John McDonald was the man that had to fill the shoes of Phil Jones as master of ceremonies with the PDC. He works for the PDC since February 2007. John started as a announcer for Barry Hearn in boxing. Before that he used to be a photographer, but he wanted to be closer to sports and that’s why he became an announcer. He has announced players in various world championships such as boxing, snooker, pool, bowling and fishing. Made his debut in darts during the 2004 showdown between Andy Fordham and Phil Taylor. After that he did the 2005 World Matchplay and the 2006 Premier League. With his boxing like announcing he adds a dimension to a tournament.
