In 2010, the PDC for the first time in its existence organizes a special tournament nations teams. The World Cup Darts is held in Hougton le Spring, England. In the first edition 24 countries participate, all represented by their top 2 players. England are the sky-high favourites to lift the crown with their pairing of Phil Taylor and James Wade (the number 1 and 2 in the world), but surprisingly they loose in their first match two the outsiders from Spain. The Netherlands will eventually win the first ever PDC World Cup of Darts. The Team of Raymond van Barneveld and Co Stompé beat Wales in the final (Mark Webster en Barrie Bates). In 2012 take revenge when Phil Taylor and Adrian Lewis bring the cup back to England.
